PIGS paper guide

Classic photo paper is referred to as glossy paper with different levels of gloss such as satin, glossy, luster or pearl. All of these have in common that they reproduce the colors well saturated and contrasting. In addition, the gloss can create different reflections. Photo paper like this are usually a little lighter, smoother and colder in tone than FineArt paper, unfortunately they are a little fragile, but also cheaper in price.

Glossy FineArt prints is certified paper that meets the industry standard ISO 9706. FineArt quality is museum quality. Baryta paper is best known among photographers, which has a lot of gloss. Other finishes are pearl or satin with slightly less gloss. You could say that the less gloss, the less contrast and saturation. FineArt is the most expensive in price but with the highest quality.
