Satin is slightly less glossy, more "milky" and very fine-grained. You could say that the less gloss, the less contrast and saturation.

Pearl gloss, like satin moves slightly towards matt. As a pearl does not mirror the outside world around, but reflects it in a "matt reflection" which gives the print a very decent and subtle shine.
